LOLA presents a vision for Hamburg Science City district

2 February 2024

LOLA Landscape Architects presents an urban and landscape vision for the new district of Hamburg Science City. In collaboration with Mandaworks, LOLA developed a vision that brings the new city district closer to nature, while creating excellent connections with neighbouring city areas. As one of Hamburg’s most ambitious projects, Science City Hamburg aims to become a central hub for scientific academia and housing.

Our proposal aims to maximize the synergy between the new district and the adjacent landscape of the historic Volkspark. Furthermore, the spatial concepts will address how the city and science can find each other in intelligent, forward-looking urban and green spaces.

Our team has been chosen as one of three finalists to advance to the final stage of the competitive dialogue process, which aims to be completed by August 2024.
