Design Stappegoor Sport and Education Campus completed

23 April 2025

LOLA Landscape Architects and Shift Architecture + Urbanism completed the urban design of the Sports and Education Campus Stappegoor. Stappegoor is an area in the city of Tilburg (NL) that has quickly become an important unique place in the city where sports, education, business and leisure come together in one area. The Knowledge Quarter (Omgevingsprogramma Kenniskwartier) area will continue to develop in the coming years, which is why both the city and developers are investing heavily in it.

The Stappegoor education campus is to become a green and vibrant sports and education campus. With educational and sports institutions as the main users it will also become an important place for sports, exercise and recreation for residents of surrounding neighbourhoods. The campus will include facilities for athletics and tennis and will significantly improve the quality of the publicly accessible space with green qualities, creating squares for sports and by activating the adjacent pond.

Client: Gemeente Tilburg

Update 2 July 2025: The design has been approved by the city council, so the project will continue as planned.
