Introducing History in Etzenrade Castle
4 June 2020
Our project in Etzenrade, Etzenrade Castle is nearing completion. We’re giving visitors a real insight into the history and research of the Etzenrade Castle history by uncovering underground artefacts.
3D-printed replicas of the artefacts found on site are displayed on the exact location they were found and elevated as sculptures in the garden. The table located on the main island, just outside the garden strips, shows a selection of artefacts found in the canals and on the small island. It refers to the archaeological process, a leading theme in this project.
In addition to the found objects, the canal around the former moat is restored and serves as a water buffer and the excavation trenches are central park elements.
