Meelfabriek garden finalist for Archello Park of the Year

13 November 2024

Archello has revealed the finalists for the second annual Archello Awards program, and we are happy that the LOLA Landscape Architects designed Meelfabriek garden made it to the finale for Park of the Year!

For the design of the garden of De Meelfabriek Leiden, LOLA worked closely with garden designer Piet Oudolf. Together we created a green oasis at the heart of the of the industrial heritage setting of former flour factory, a landmark complex in the city of Leiden and the Singelpark. The garden is a lush planted and peaceful place. Carefully framed, it is designed as a large ‘nature painting’. Every season reveals a new beautiful colors and shapes, utilizing the seasonal dynamics in its best interest.

With the Archello Awards, Archello celebrates the very best landscape and architecture projects, building products and firms. For the 2024 edition there were over 1,000 entries.
