At the head of Cascadepark in Almere, MARK is a landscape‑focused residential development entering its final construction phase. LOLA designed an accessible wetland on top of the parking deck as well as on the rooftops, merging the site with its surroundings. The complex consists of two 30‑meter residential towers and a sunken parking deck, together forming a place where architecture, landscape, and ecology are inseparably interwoven.
MARK fits seamlessly into its setting, as if it has always existed. A distinctive mix inspired by the Oostvaardersplassen, Pampushout, and Cascadepark creates a mature natural landscape atop the parking deck. This wetland, with water, reed banks, and decking paths, blends MARK into its surroundings while enriching Cascadepark for residents, visitors, plants, birds, and insects. Circular planters, irrigation systems, and layered planting pull the landscape upward, while over 80% of the landscape will be publicly accessible.
