Team WEST// wins Erasmusplein Vlaardingen

14 November 2025

Timpaan, VenhoevenCS and LOLA Landscape Architects have won the tender for the Erasmusplein in Vlaardingen (NL) with WEST//. This innovative residential care project that gives the Westwijk a new anchor point; socially strong, spatially refined, and open to the neighbourhood.

WEST// brings living and care closer together. It offers a home for young starters, seniors, and people in need of support — all part of an open and inclusive community. The project stands for Wonen, Ervaren, Samen, Thuis (Living, Experiencing, Together, Home) and unites high-quality architecture, social sustainability and biodiversity in one forward-looking concept that integrates housing and care under a single roof.

With our landscape design LOLA aims to seamlessly connect the adjacent park and the building. The garden encourages spontaneous interaction between residents and neighbours. Daylight, views of greenery, and natural materials create a healthy, peaceful living environment.

The plan comprises: 70 owner-occupied apartments, 42 rental care apartments and a Child Development Centre. Construction is expected to start at the end of 2027, with completion scheduled for mid-to-late 2029.
